Design for Jinja, a new Asian kitchen and bar on the De Clercqstraat, Amsterdam. Raw, funky, modern, and minimalist with bold colour accents, high-gloss and brutalist-inspired elements.
A 17-meter-long undulating orange banquette energizes the space and adds a sense of movement. Above the banquette hang custom art pieces by Christiaan van Lennep which accentuate its fluidity, creating a harmony of motion.
Hanging above the DJ booth is a spherical 3D-printed pendant lamp, created in collaboration with Design Academy Eindhoven alumnus Jasper van der Burgh – giving emerging design talent a platform.

Restrooms are colour-drenched in deep red, from the vanity to the toilets, to give the space a seductive edge – amplified by a mirrored ceiling.
The use of high gloss on the walls and chrome accents throughout add sleekness and elegance.
The crisp, angular bar interacts with the soft lighting above, where lamps are draped in orange fabric to create a unique statement.
Behind the bar, the dark oak cabinetry and stainless steel complement each other.
Natural materials are allowed to shine, with custom tables crafted from light and dark oak with burl veneer.
The teppanyaki bar offers an intimate private dining experience where guests can sit directly at the grill, enhanced by carefully chosen art and lighting.
The bar is hidden from the rest of the restaurant, accessed through pivot doors which can be opened or closed – making the space flexible to accommodate and create different moods.
